Ettore Sottsass
Today is the opening of the new exhibition at The Design Museum the best part of which has to be the amazing electronic products for Olivetti. The studio designed the 25/25 exhibit showing alongside Sottsass which celebrates 25 years of The Design Museum. 25 designers choose one object from The Conran Collection and tell you why they think it's so great. For my part, I am very enamoured of our huge numbers which fill the space so aggressively.

NZZ
Editor: Felix Müller
Design: Simon Esterson and Mark Porter
Although this newspaper was redesigned in 2003 I thought it was worth putting it on to the blog.
This is the Sunday edition of the very prestigious Neue Zürcher Zeitung in Zurich. Esterson Associates still works with the newspaper on various tweaks and special projects.

If you have some space on your bookshelf and some spare pocket change then you do worse than sink into 75 years worth of modernism.
Simon art directed Domus for many years. After browsing through some of the work archive I came across the fashion issue and remembered just how much I like it. Here is one of many excellent articles.

Otl Aicher
To coincide with the Phaidon Press publication of the long-awaited first monograph on the work of acclaimed German graphic designer, Otl Aicher (1922-1991), Vitsœ is hosting an exhibition of Aicher's design team's seminal graphic work from the 1972 Munich Olympiad. It was very sunny there today and the reflection off the perspex was a little distracting but the sheer body of work created from matchboxes to food packaging is really impressive.

Alan Kitching
The Alan Kitching exhibition at St Brides ended yesterday, but not before Martin the intern had one last look at it. Alan also gave talks which he labelled fifty years in twenty minutes. From Darlington to Kennington via Watford and Clerkenwell in the blink of an eye. It was a great talk and a really inspirational show.
