Tom Ford's collaboration with Terry Richardson has produced these new ads for his men's fragrance.
I'm so blown away by its bravery that I don't know whether I like them or not. I wonder what we will think of the campaign over time, will we think its provocative and ground breaking in a Helmut Newton/ Guy Bourdin way or has it stepped over the mark and gone into tacky territory? At the moment I just cant decide.

whatever it is.. it gets points for being hot... usually ads try to be scandalous and end up being just something else you pass over looking through art forum.. yeah i said art forum. its in the last issue...
From what I know of Terry Richardson, he has never made any attempt to keep his art/design chaste or tasteful. I totally admire his gall and have never been a fan of gentility, more an advocate of "genitality" in this case.
I think the point is - its been done before. http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2006/11/29/magazine/03eau600.1.jpg
I find it very interesting. I totally agree with your sentiments. I like it but also find it incredibly vulgar and really sexuality is all about the alure, not blatant sex.
We could have a big hard cock or a woman pushing a bottle up her vagina and it's sexual, but it that sexy? Personally I dont think so.
Good blog!
